ASHRAE publishes second edition to HVAC manual for healthcare facilities

By BD+C Staff | April 10, 2013

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has published a second edition of its “HVAC Design Manual for Hospitals and Clinics.” First released in 2003, the publication includes information on design, installation and commissioning of HVAC systems for healthcare facilities. The second edition is a complete re-write of the first, and discusses how the principles of infection control have influenced regulations that are the basis for the unique designs needed in healthcare facilities.
