Well, not exactly, but it could happen very soon. Take a look at the temporary restaurant sitting atop Brussels’ historic Arc de Triomphe-Triomfboog. The Cube, by Electrolux, offers 18 diners a spectacular view of the Parc du Cinquantenair, and is one of two structures traveling across Europe, making stops at famous landmarks in Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, and Russia. What do you think about one of these 60-tonne structures being placed on a U.S. memorial?
The Cube is fully transparent, consisting of glass encased in a white, laser-cut aluminum exterior. Inside, the 1,614-sf structure is modern, spare, and all-white, save the wood floors, and connects to a small terrace. Diners access the space via a temporary lift.
All-star chefs are preparing special menus for each city, and if you haven’t already purchased your ticket for one of the exclusive lunches ($220) or dinners ($290), it’s not too late. But act fast—there are just a few seats left.
