Dubai's Rosemont Towers will have an artificial beach and rainforest

Dubai’s newest supertower plan is the definition humble. It is based on the simplistic, functional ideals of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. There will be no bells and whistles... just kidding!

Dubai’s Rosemont Towers will have an artificial beach and rainforest, as Inhabitat reports.

The two 47-story high-rises will stand on a five-story podium that will house retail units, entertainment options (including bowling alleys, a cinema, and a skydiving simulator), and welcome lobbies, according to Gizmag.

The towers will have 450 hotel rooms, amenities like a sky lobby and a sky pool, and luxury residential units.

ZAS Group and Kieferle & Partner designed the $300 million, 1.9 million-sf complexes. Construction has begun and is expected to be completed by April 2018.

“The architecture of the building will represent today, in a city where smart and chic structures have contributed greatly to the destination,” said ZAS’s website. “The intention of creating an active frontage on SZR side is achieved by a common podium proportioning the towers over as a pedestal, as modernism dominates the design.”
