Samet Corporation is nearing completion on a 51,434-square-foot, four-story hotel that will be a part of the development known as the Shoppes at Vineyards Crossing and overlook Childress Vineyards, a 120-acre vineyard and winery owned by NASCAR legend Richard Childress.
Construction on the hotel began in June 2007. The site was essentially ready for construction and only required the addition of a segmented retaining wall at the rear of the site.
The building itself is being constructed with a panelized framing system, which has speeded up the process and eliminated a lot of waste. The hotel features an EIFS and stone exterior with a metal roof in order to compliment the Tuscan-style architecture of the vineyard.
Construction cost for the hotel is $5.3 million, and it is scheduled for completion in June 2008.
