Fairview Heights, Ill.— Sustainability is top of mind these days, particularly for Metro East construction management firm IMPACT Strategies, which is currently constructing two separate "green" buildings in St. Clair County, one of which will serve as the company's new headquarters. The Greenmount Corporate Center in O'Fallon and IMPACT's new headquarters at The Fountains of Fairview Heights are both being designed and constructed using select Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) guidelines.
Sustainable features of Greenmount Corporate Center include a water-use system able to reduce usage by up to 20 percent and the use of low-emitting materials to enhance indoor environmental quality. The building's owner, Balke-Brown Associates, St. Louis, will incorporate a bicycle storage area to promote employee's use of alternative transportation methods. The $6-million, 52,000-square-foot office facility is also the first multitenant facility within the Regency Park Development.
IMPACT Strategies' new headquarters will be located in Fountains Court Service Center One, a 20,000-square-foot building. Specific LEED principles guiding the design and construction of this building include the use of interior components constructed of sustainable materials.
