Wilmington, DE, January 29, 2009: Nason Construction recently reached a safety milestone while working at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. The construction team has implemented an excellent safety and loss prevention program that has resulted in an injury-free environment for over 300 consecutive days.
“The Christiana Hospital project team has reinforced Nason’s commitment to safety,” said Nason said Nason President Michael B. Berardi. “The fact that our construction crews have worked on a busy hospital campus with a trauma center for over 300 days without incident is quite an accomplishment.”
Safety is a priority at Nason, and the firm has been recognized both regionally and nationally for its efforts. The firm has earned the Platinum Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) seven years in a row, and has earned the Governors Safety Award (Delaware) for the past four years.
Nason is currently working on completing the expansion of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, a 24,000 square foot addition to the current Cancer Center, which is scheduled to open in late spring 2009. The firm completed work in 2005 on the award-winning Medical Building Expansion, and has worked on over 50 projects for the Christiana Care Health System for over 15 years.
