Designing a restaurant is a little like making great food. It takes quality ingredients, inspiration and skill. David Emil channels such qualities into Noche, his Latin-inspired restaurant/nightclub set to open in May in New York City's Times Square. Though Noche translates as night in Spanish, it will be open during the day as well.
The former owner of Windows on the World in the World Trade Center has gathered top talent and several alumni from Windows. Design of the 20,000-square-foot space is in the hands of David Rockwell, New York City-based restaurant designer and architect. Magician David Copperfield lent his sleight of hand to the concept's magic theme. Culinary consultant Michael Lomonaco, formerly executive chef of Windows, draws inspiration from myriad cuisines of Latin America, blending traditional dishes and modern interpretations.
The beverage program will reflect the expertise and sense of fun of Andrea Immer, master sommelier and former beverage director of Windows. Slated for the beverage menu are made-to-order sangria, signature mojitos, wines from Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
