OSHA moves to reduced exposure to crystalline silica

OSHA moves to reduced exposure to crystalline silica

August 28, 2013

Under a proposal from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the new permissible exposure limit to crystalline silica per cubic meter of air could be changed from 250 micrograms to 50 micrograms. Under the construction provision, companies would be required to restrict worker access in areas where silica levels exceed PEL, and would be required to employ dust-control methods.
