Richard M. Gollis, principal of The Concord Group, has been named to serve as Chair of the Urban Land Institute's (ULI) Orange County District Council for 2001-2002.
ULI's mission is to provide responsible leadership in the use of the land in order to enhance the total environment. The institute has more than 500 members in Orange County, including leading developers, builders, financiers, design professionals and elected officials. It is recognized as the nation's leading real estate professional organization. "The major objective of our efforts in Orange County this year will be to bring ULI's strong resources in development and land use to projects in our community," Gollis said. "We recognize that Orange County and our constituent cities and communities are on the leading edge of change in this country. We have a tremendous opportunity - and responsibility - to accommodate growth in ways that are both economically viable and environmentally sensitive."
Gollis is a founder and principal of The Concord Group based in Newport Beach and San Francisco, California. The Concord Group is a real estate advisory firm providing strategic advice for land use issues and development of residential, commercial/retail and industrial real estate projects. Clients include land developers, homebuilders, institutional investors, family landowners, public agencies and universities throughout the nation.
In addition to chairing the Orange County District Council on ULI's Smart Growth Initiative for California, Gollis is a member of the national Panel Advisory Services Honorary Association. He has volunteered his advisory services to the Urban Design Assistance Team of the American Institute of Architects for various redevelopment projects in Santa Ana, Garden Grove and the Balboa Peninsula.
In 2000, Gollis co-authored the widely published ULI Market Profile report for Orange County. He has been invited as a guest lecturer at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Society for College and University Planning, Seniors Housing Council of Orange County, Pacific Coast Builders Conference, Southern California Builder Show and Multi-Housing World Conference.
