February 16, 2011, Denver, CO – RNL, Steelcase & OfficeScapes proudly announce the launch of Workplace-2020.com, a digital forum designed to explore workplace trends, spark discussion and inspire debate regarding the workspace of the future.
Workplace-2020 will investigate the areas of technology, culture, human resources, design and sustainability in order to form a prediction about the physical workplace in the year 2020. During the course of the Workplace-2020 initiative designers will develop a virtual model of the workplace of the future to be explored on the Workplace-2020 website.
Amy H. Tabor, Director of Facilities Planning at RNL and Workplace-2020.com team leader said, “In the year 2000 we launched a living laboratory dubbed Workplace 2010 to show the world what the workplace of the future might be. Now that 2010 has come and gone, the workplace discussion has shifted to focus on the coming decade. We are excited to see the results of the Workplace-2020.com project!”
Predictions from human resource professionals, sustainability and technology consultants, educators, economists and designers will be featured on this constantly changing, virtual environment. The Workplace-2020.com blog will welcome input, opinions and feedback.

Workplace 2020 (www.workplace-2020.com) was created to provide a forum for dialogue about the constantly changing workplace. In the year 2000 a living laboratory, called Workplace 2010, was launched and built to show the world what the workplace of the future could be. Now, at the conclusion of 2010, the workplace discussion looks forward to focus on the coming decade. Workplace 2020 will evaluate predictions made in 2000 about today’s reality, test drive a renewed vision of the future and collect ideas and knowledge from a broad range of perspectives to help define that vision.
