Victory Drive Student Housing project will bring 650 beds to Savannah College of Art and Design

The project will utilize the design-build resources of Clayco and BatesForum.

Savannah College of Art and Design has announced a new student housing project that will be located on 2.5 acres in downtown Savannah, Ga.

The $54 million-Victory Drive Student Housing project will comprise 250,000 sf across two residence halls and a 96,000-sf parking garage with 260 spaces. The two residence halls will total 650 beds and a resident directory apartment. Suites will be offered in four-bed and two-bed options along with one-bedroom studios. The residence halls will also house lounges, study rooms, art studios, laundry rooms, and management offices.

The West Hall will be four stories of wood frame construction and the East Hall will be five stories of wood frame construction that wraps the precast parking garage on three sides. The exterior of both buildings will consist of brick, curtain wall, metal panels, and stucco.

Construction has recently begun with completion slated for August 2020.
