Baltimore, Md. – September 12, 2022 — Hord Coplan Macht, an award-winning integrated architecture, interior design, and planning firm with offices across Maryland, Metro DC, North Carolina, and Colorado, has announced that Charlotte, N.C.-based architecture firm FWA Group has joined the firm.
The move combines FWA’s portfolio and knowledge base in K-12, higher education, and healthcare with HCM’s innovative design approach and client service expertise. The addition of FWA will also extend HCM's geographic reach, including its first South Carolina office, in Hilton Head Island.
SHARED COMMITMENT TO CLIENT-FOCUSED PRACTICE
“We share similar areas of expertise and cultures, as well as a strong sense of commitment to a client-focused practice, which made this move a natural fit,” says Gary Hubler, president of the former FWA Group (now Hord Coplan Macht). “We look forward to continuing to provide the same high level of service to our clients that we have delivered for the past 69 years with enhanced capabilities and expertise in additional project types.”
“Adding the FWA team to the HCM family is an important milestone in HCM’s strategic growth plan,” says Tim Barnhill, COO of HCM. “We are excited to have such a strong group of experienced design leaders join our firm.”
HCM has worked closely with FWA Group for a year prior to this merger. Seeking to diversify its core capabilities, FWA brings a wealth of experience and a wide range of project types to HCM, including the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
