ACS, Madison, WI, has started construction of a $7.7-million research and development center at Gehl Company, West Bend, WI.
ACS is converting an unused plant into a 73,000-square-foot lab designed to test Gehl equipment used in light construction and agriculture worldwide, particularly compact excavators, skid-steer loaders andasphalt pavers.
The lab will test next-generation equipment for noise level, structural integrity, power capability, and performance in cold and hot weather. It will also be used for other project testing.
