Wight & Company, a leader in integrated architecture, engineering and construction solutions for the built environment, announced today that Albert Mark, AIA, LEED AP, has joined the company as Project Executive. Mark, 55, will work in Wight’s Chicago office.
“Al’s comprehensive project management experience and knowledge of complex projects in Chicago will transfer directly to Wight’s public and institutional clients,” said Mark Wight, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Wight & Company. “Further, his understanding and support of Wight’s integrated solutions model makes him an invaluable resource and a great addition to our team.”
Mark has worked as an architect with the City of Chicago for 29 years, in addition to working within the private sector. He has been involved in a number of diverse public projects and in various city departments, including serving as the Managing Architect of the Public Building Commission of Chicago, Assistant to the Mayor for Infrastructure for the City of Chicago, Project Manager for the Department of Aviation, Region 6 Manager for Chicago Public Schools, and Final Plan Examiner for the Department of Buildings. Most recently, he served as a Deputy Commissioner managing the Division of Green Initiatives & Special Projects at the Department of General Services.
Mark is a licensed architect in the State of Illinois and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is an Accredited Professional in LEED® and has received certification from the City to participate in the Self-Certification program for the building permit process. He is also a board member of the South-East Asia Center, a community-based, educational and social service organization.
