FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (July 28, 2009) – The American Concrete Institute (ACI) will be hosting two international conferences this fall to help advance concrete knowledge internationally among its members and others in the concrete industry.
The “Ninth International Conference on Superplasticizers and Other Chemical Admixtures in Concrete” and the “Tenth International Conference on Recent Advances in Concrete Technology and Sustainability Issues” will be held in conjunction with one another Oct. 12-16 at the Hotel Meliá Lebreros in Seville, Spain.
The focus of the Ninth International Conference will be to present the latest available information on the rapidly evolving field of superplasticizers and other chemical admixtures and discuss new areas of research. Highlights of this conference include 60 presentations by the foremost experts from all over the world, ranging in topic from “The Impact of Chemical Admixutres on Sustainability” to “New Superplasticizer for Precast Concrete.” A dinner in honor or Dr. Alfred Kern, president of BASF Construction Chemicals, will be held during the conference.
The focus of the Tenth International Conference will be to continue to transfer, as widely as possible, the most recent developments in concrete technology and sustainability issues. “Concrete Construction: Economy of Socio-Cultural Responsibility and Sustainability Issues” and “Durability of Ultra-High-Performance Concrete” will be among the 60+ presentations at this conference. In addition, a dinner in honor of William R. Tolley, executive vice president of the American Concrete Institute, will be held.
