Atari has announced it has partnered with GSD Group, an innovation and strategy agency led by Shelly Murphy and partner Napoleon Smith III, to create a series of hotels across the United States that combine the Atari brand with a one-of-a-kind video game-themed destination.

The hotels will include fully immersive experiences that include the latest in VR and AR. Select hotels will feature venues and studios to accommodate eSports events. The goal for Atari Hotels is to combine the origins of gaming and the future of the industry into a fun and unique travel destination.

ā€œWhen creating this brand-new hotel concept, we knew that Atari would be the perfect way to give guests the ā€˜nostalgic and retro meets modernā€™ look and feel we were going for.ā€ said Smith in a release.Ā

The first Atari Hotel, which will be the only one of its kind in the U.S., is set to break ground in Phoenix later this year. Additional hotels are planned for Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, Sanfrancisco, and San Jose.

3D-printed construction milestones take shape in Tennessee and Texas

Two notable 3D-printed projects mark milestones in the new construction technique of ā€œprintingā€ structures with specialized concrete. In Athens, Tennessee, Walmart hired Alquist 3D to build a 20-foot-high store expansion, one of the largest freestanding 3D-printed commercial concrete structures in the U.S. In Marfa, Texas, the worldā€™s first 3D-printed hotel is under construction at an existing hotel and campground site.
