Perkins Eastman announced that Damian Besculides, AIA, has joined the firm's New York office as Associate Principal. Besculides joins with more than 17 years’ experience in design, business development, and account management for the government, healthcare, and corporate practice areas with a particular focus on the financial and media sectors.
Prior to joining Perkins Eastman, Besculides served as an Owner’s Representative at Gardiner & Theobald, a construction and property consultancy where his clients included Alliance Bernstein, Bank of Scotland, CIBC, Citigroup, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase & Co., and Merrill Lynch & Co. Damian’s portfolio also includes media clients such as Aegis Media, A+E Networks, Horizon Media Inc., Omnicom, and WPP. Previously, he had worked as a practicing architect at Gensler, Mancini Duffy, and Cannon Design.
Besculides holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University; has held Series 7, 63, and 68 financial licensure as well as a general insurance license; and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and Corenet Global. University of Florida aiming for nation’s first LEED Platinum parking garage
If all goes as planned, the University of Florida’s new $20 million Southwest Parking Garage Complex in Gainesville will soon become the first parking facility in the country to earn LEED Platinum status. Designed by the Boca Raton office of PGAL to meet criteria for the highest LEED certification category, the garage complex includes a six-level, 313,000-sf parking garage (927 spaces) and an attached, 10,000-sf, two-story transportation and parking services office building.
