Mary Tierney Cauceglia has been appointed vice president of global accounts at Allsteel Inc, a newly created position. In making the announcement, Malisa Bryant, Allsteel’s vice president of sales, said that Cauceglia is responsible for developing new global business strategies and expanding existing business within the Fortune 500 sector.
“We are thrilled to have Tierney on our team,” said Bryant. “Her impeccable resume and leadership capabilities are sure to inspire our sales team and accelerate Allsteel’s global expansion.”
An industry veteran, Cauceglia joins Allsteel after an 18-year tenure at Herman Miller, where she most recently was director of strategic accounts. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland. Her professional affiliations include the Strategic Account Management Association and Corenet. Cauceglia is based in Muscatine. BD+C

New survey shows shifts in hospital construction projects
America’s hospitals and health systems are focusing more on renovation or expansion than new construction, according to a new survey conducted by Health Facilities Management magazine and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). AIA selects 6 communities for long-term sustainability program
The American Institute of Architects today announced it has selected 6 communities throughout the country to receive technical assistance under the Sustainable Design Assessment Team (SDAT) program in 2011. The communities selected are Shelburne, Vt., Apple Valley, Mn., Pikes Peak Region, Co., Southwest DeKalb County, Ga., Bastrop, Tx., and Santa Rosa, Ca.
