Chicago-based firm to design third-tallest building in China

Adrian Smith+Gordon Gill Architecture won a competition to design the $773 million Wuhan Greenland Centre in China. The tower—developed by Shanghai-based Greenland Group—will be 606 meters tall, making it the third-tallest tower in the country and fourth tallest in the world.

Total floor area will span 300,000 sm, mostly composed of office space. Additionally, the tower will house luxury apartments, a five-star hotel and a private club at penthouse level.
