C.W. Driver promotes Andy Kirby to Director of Operations in northern California office
15-year industry leader to oversee projects in company’s growing Northern California office
SAN MATEO, Calif. — June 10, 2014 — C.W. Driver, a premier builder serving California since 1919, has announced the promotion of Andy Kirby to director of operations in the firm’s San Mateo office. The 15-year industry leader will oversee projects within the company’s growing Northern California office focused on the areas of education, corporate office, retail, multi-family, mixed-use, healthcare, assisted living, civic, entertainment and hospitality.

As an expert in design-build projects, Kirby is currently directing several projects, with new and existing clients, in the Northern California area including: MPM Corporation Castro Street mixed-use development; San Francisco State University Student Recreation & Wellness Center; Shea Properties Main and Abel Apartments; Bloomingdale’s Stanford Shopping Center; and Foothill-De Anza CCD Educational Center. Kirby earned a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s degree in construction management from the NewSchool of Architecture + Design (NSAD). He has successfully completed the requirements for the nationally recognized Designated Design-Build Professional™ (DBIA™) certification. DBIA certification demonstrates commitment to design-build done right. Kirby has mastered the best practices associated with the entire design-build process—from project procurement through post-award. He is an active member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).Â
