Real Development Corp. began work on June 16 to renovate the lobby of the former SC Telcom Building, which has been renamed the Wichita Executive Centre. The Minneapolis-based company also continued plans to revamp the façade of seven downtown Wichita buildings using a city incentives program. In September, Real Development will convert Exchange Place into 144 apartment units with most rents priced at less than $1,000 a month. This project includes a 250-space parking garage east of the building. The company plans to spend up to $25 million on the conversion and parking garage and is waiting for city council approval for construction.
