J.D. Diffenbaugh, Inc. has completed construction of the new Highland Springs Medical Center for California's Loma Linda University Medical Center that will significantly enhance the access to medical services for families in the Inland Empire. The project was developed by Lillibridge Healthcare Services, Inc., one of the nation’s largest private healthcare real estate firms.
Project scope included construction of a brand new three-story medical office and a one-story surgery center adjoined by a walkway and atrium. Also, the project incorporated unique aesthetic features, such as three decorative bubbling urn fountains and a healing garden with central seating, as well as ponds and meandering colored-concrete walkways. Diffenbaugh was the General Contractor on the project and completed construction in August 2009. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony is to be announced by the owner.
The Highland Springs Medical Center, in development with Redlands Community Hospital and Beaver Medical Group, will offer comprehensive, quality medical services in the new 90,000 square foot facility. The center includes a medical office building, outpatient surgery center, urgent care, a variety of medical and surgical programs, radiation oncology and a medical oncology infusion center, and ancillary services such as imaging, a laboratory and physical therapy. The medical office building will be populated by Loma Linda University Medical Center faculty physicians as well as community providers.
The new center will serve residents of Beaumont as well as the surrounding communities of Cherry Valley, Banning, Cabazon, Calimesa, Yucaipa and Oak Glen. A large percentage of the residents living in these communities leave the area to seek healthcare, but now they will be able to receive quality medical treatment close to home.
