DLR Group has completed the modernization of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which encompassed over 1,000,000 sf of improvements.
The modernization project improved stadium seating and circulation while replacing every seat and installing handrails throughout. The design intervention widened seats and increased leg room in many sections. As a result, seating capacity was reduced from 93,607 to approximately 77,500. Additionally, aisles were added and steps were replaced to improve safety.
Other improvements included upgraded entry concourses, new field and stadium lighting, updated audio and video with two new large screens on the east end of the stadium, upgraded WiFi throughout the venue, and new electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

The entirely new Scholarship Tower provides premium seating closer to the field and makes the venue more accessible beyond football season for corporate meetings, conferences, private events, weddings, and tours. A Club Lounge and roof deck adds a luxury space that offers premium food and entertainment options for the community.
The project was completed prior to the 2019 college football season.
