Bullnose coping for parapets is actually made of aluminum but can be coated to resemble masonry. The benefits of the selection include shop-mitered corners, ease of installation and low cost-as well as a symmetrical locator cleat that keeps the coping assembly stable.
The crown of Clemson University's 108,000-sq.-ft. student center was the first to receive the product. 'We had several flat roof areas that needed to be dressed up at the parapets,' says project manager Scott May of Neal, Prince and Partners, an architecture firm based in Greenville, S.C. 'We'd already put concrete bullnose on the building to help define the second and third floors, so we needed something that would match that and provide waterproofing.'
