ALEXANDRIA, Va. (May 26, 2009) – The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) today announced that it is now designated as an "Approved Provider" of professional development courses offered through the CSI Construction Education Network (CEN) in the state of Florida.
Individual CSI CEN courses that fall under health, safety or welfare (HSW) and receive approval from Florida's Board of Architecture and Interior Design will now count toward the state's continuing education requirements for design professionals. CSI CEN continues to pursue automatic approval of courses with the Board.
CSI will be listed in the state's Continuing Education Handbook alongside universities or colleges with programs accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board.
"We are pleased that CSI CEN is now an approved provider of professional development courses to design professionals in the state of Florida," said CSI Executive Director and CEO Walter Marlowe, P.E., CSI, CAE. "Our Florida members will now have access to more high-quality professional development courses in health, safety or welfare courses in their home state."
CSI CEN is a network of registered education providers offering programs to professionals in construction-related industries. It is the only continuing education program that connects the entire built community – from architects, engineers and contractors to manufacturers, facility managers and developers. No other program is as comprehensive in its scope.
There are many benefits associated with CSI CEN for learners, including:
A user-friendly directory of available programs searchable by topic, occupation and provider.
Access to transcripts and completion certificates in real-time at no cost.
The ability to manage one's training information online.
Additionally, CSI CEN offers providers an easy-to-use system that reduces administrative tasks and costs. Providers can use the Web-based system to produce completion certificates and receive e-mail alerts when new credits have been entered.
