The Garthwaite Center, an award-winning, 21,000-square-foot "green" facility designed by Architerra Inc. of Boston and built by Consigli Construction Co., Inc. of Milford, MA, meets LEED Platinum standards, as outlined by the United States Green Building Council. With multiple sustainable components — including a wood-pellet boiler, composing toilets and green roof system — the building's recognition as a winner in the 2008 "Beyond Green" campaign compliments the school's commitment to environmentally friendly design and construction. The building previously won a 2008 "Top 10 Green Projects" Award from the American Institute of Architects.
