Gilbane Building Co. has been selected to provide construction management services for a new integrated middle and high school in North Reading, Mass.
Designed by Dore & Whittier, the $107 million facility will feature a renovated middle school and newly constructed high school connected by a shared core, which will include a gymnasium, library/media center, cafeteria/kitchen and auditorium.
Additionally, the project scope includes a wastewater treatment plant, demolition of the existing high school and extensive athletic fieldwork.
Gilbane is ranked the #1 builder in the country of K-12 schools by Building Design+Construction, with nearly 400 schools built in the last five years. The North Reading integrated middle and high school will be built in two phases over the next three years. Construction will begin this summer and is scheduled to complete in December 2015. BD+C
