Construction is now underway on the Glorya Kaufman Performing Arts Center located on the Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services campus. The building combines a remodel of and an addition to an existing temple building that was built in 1965 as the campus Synagogue.

The AUX Architecture-designed building will be a 300-seat performing arts center that will house the Glorya Kaufman Therapeutic Dance Program. The building will also include a rehearsal studio, lobby, box office, dressing rooms, theatrical support spaces, and storage.

The theater is envisioned as the catalyst for the school’s long-term goals of advancing its arts programs and to help shape the future of the overall campus. The theater will be used for school events, such as dance, drama, theatre and music education, school assemblies, and temple functions; professional performance groups; and artist + student workshops.

The Center is slated for completion in fall 2019.
