Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC), the North American Green Roof Industry Association, is pleased to announce the Canadian Green Roof Professional (GRP) Accreditation launch on October 19, 2009 at the CitiesAlive World Green Roof Infrastructure Congress in Toronto, Canada, hosted by GRHC, the City of Toronto, and the World Green Roof Infrastructure Network.
Candidates will have the opportunity for the first time in Canada to register for the exam and complete the newly launched Green Roof Professional (GRP) Accreditation Exam. The deadline to register for the GRP Exam at the Citiesalive Congress in Toronto is Sunday October 4th 2009, midnight (EST). Register here.
The exam covers the key areas of knowledge expected of a Green Roof Professional and encompasses five areas of concentration including pre-design, design, contract management, quality assurance and support, and maintenance. GRP accreditation will verify the designated GRP has attained a level of the interdisciplinary knowledge needed in the design, installation and maintenance of green roof systems. GRP accreditation also provides continuing education credits for AIA, ASLA, APA and LEED.
Toronto has enacted a Green Roof Bylaw that went into effect January 31, 2009. CitiesAlive delegates can learn more about the Toronto bylaw at the Congress. For more information about the CitiesAlive World Green Roof Infrastructure Congress, and to register, look here.
