If the Democrats’ massive stimulus plan comes to fruition, the U.S. General Services Administration would get some $6.7 billion to apply toward renovation and repair projects at the 1,500 buildings it owns and manages, according to a January 18 report by Federal Times.
The article’s author Tim Kauffman says the stimulus “would nearly cover the $7 billion backlog identified by GSA, although the House bill stipulates that $6 billion of the total provided to GSA be spent on projects that would make buildings more energy efficient.”
