Stepping outside for some fresh air is more than just a way for someone to excuse himself from an uncomfortable situation. Indoor air can be up to five times more polluted than outdoor air, which makes the prospects of sitting inside an office for upwards of eight hours a day very unappealing.

The new Awair Omni air quality monitor, designed specifically for commercial facilities, hopes to help companies improve the quality of office air to create a healthier, more productive workplace. The device tracks temperature, humidity, CO2, chemicals, and fine dust, and provides actionable insights to allow businesses to improve their indoor environments. Awair Omni has a touch-sensitive LED display, can be mounted on a wall or stand, and includes a battery backup to prevent loss of data.

An integrated business dashboard allows for the management of hundreds, even thousands, of individual Omnis in a single facility. The dashboard provides analytics of the overall building air quality and the air quality of individual rooms. The data can be accessed and explored to help building owners achieve LEED, WELL, Fitwel, or RESET certification. Owners can also set up customized notifications that alert them when building conditions fall out of the desired air quality range.

A building owner can use the dashboard to compare different rooms in a facility, such as a lobby area, break area, and conference room, and quickly determine if each room is meeting air quality standards. An “Awair Score” and an accompanying color of green, yellow, or red provide information at a glance. Colorful graphs show how the Awair Score, temperature, CO2, chemicals, and fine dust readings have changed over time for each space. The data is displayed both by individual metric and combined into a single graph. A weekly report provides the average Awair Score for that period, the percentage it increased or decreased from the previous week, the weekly average for each of the tracked metrics, and the daily average score for each day of the week.

Airbnb, Google, and Levi Strauss are among the companies piloting Awair Omni.
