IRVINE, CALIF. - Named “Architect of the Year” by 50+ Builder Magazine, KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning, continues to be recognized for its years of dedication to 50+ communities and the ability of its design and planning experts to meet the needs and wants of this growing market segment. Recently, the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) 50+ Housing Council awarded Garden Grove Senior Apartments in Garden Grove, Calif. the prestigious 2008 Best of 50+ Housing Gold Award in the category of “Multifamily Housing: Overall Community – Income-Qualified Affordable Rental Apartments.” Also, KTGY’s Principal Rob Williams, AIA and an expert in the 50+ market, was recently invited to speak at the Building Industry Association of Southern California’s [BIA/SC] 50+ Housing Council program “Design Opportunities for the Age Wave; What’s the Next Move for the Boomer?” held on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at 8:00 am in Newport Beach, Calif.

The Garden Grove Senior Apartments is a high density, 100% affordable, 85-unit active adult community located in Southern California. There are six single-level unit plans accessible by elevator available to residents. Most of the units offer a private deck or patio while others feature expanded living space. Common amenities include a large central courtyard adjacent to a community room and fitness center offering residents numerous programs and varying levels of interaction and activity. One of the gratifying programs offered is EngAGE, which provides important organization expertise and life-enhancing skills by addressing seniors’ physical, mental and social needs including educational and wellness choices. Other activities include writing classes, art, music, physical fitness and outings to local places of interest. An Olympics booster event, tied to MTSFS® Senior Olympics, allow residents to practice for individual and team competitions in art, crafts, walking and other physically active events.

Williams brings more than 20 years of architectural practice in residential, civic and commercial design.
