Koll Development Company (KDC), will begin construction in Riverside on the nation's fifth Intellicenter office building. Intellicenter-Riverside will be the first "green" office building in western Riverside County. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 25th. In 2005, KDC announced the development of the "Intellicenter," a branded, high-performance office building program in compliance with the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. Since then, Intellicenters in Atlanta and Dallas are complete and Intellicenters in Charlotte, N.C.; Houston; and Tampa, Fla., are under development. Intellicenter-Houston is leased to St. Paul Travelers Companies.
"The development of Intellicenter-Riverside is an opportunity to enhance an underserved office market with a product ready to meet the needs of Corporate America," said Mark Cashman, senior vice president of KDC. "It will support one of the fastest growing regions in California and keep professional service jobs in the Inland Empire."
The three-story, 150,000-square-foot Intellicenter-Riverside will be located on 11 acres next to a future Metrolink station in the Meridian business park. It is ideally situated just west of Interstate 215 and south of Allessandro Boulevard. Intellicenter-Riverside is scheduled for completion in summer 2008 and will have the capacity to house approximately 1,000 employees.
