Peter A. Yakowicz, PE, MHA has joined LEO A DALY as the first National Director of Veterans Health Administration Programs. Yakowicz will work closely with the National Directors for both the healthcare and federal market sectors to develop programs designed specifically for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Yakowicz brings over 30 years of experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs and a great deal of insight into the needs of the Department of Veterans Affairs client. He will be responsible for cultivating new business opportunities within the Department of Veterans Affairs market sector, building and sustaining positive working relationships, and pursuing and securing strategic relationships with partnering firms in pursuit of federal business opportunities.
As Capital Assets Program Director for the Department of Veterans Affairs Midwest Healthcare Network in Eagan, Minnesota, Yakowicz managed $8 Billion worth of capital assets at eight Department of Veterans Affairs health care networks on 12 campuses, as well as 68 community-based outpatient clinics throughout a five-state region. He directed strategic capital planning, health facility master planning, project development, resource allocation and overall program management.
“There’s nothing more important to client relationships than having a deep understanding of their needs and perspectives. Pete’s years of experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs will give us an even deeper understanding from a client’s viewpoint on many issues: contracting, partnering, and budgeting” said Archie Aamoth, National Director of Healthcare for LEO A DALY.Â
Yakowicz is a licensed professional engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in Minneapolis, MN.
