Dirk Lohan will close his architecture firm, Lohan Anderson, and join Wight & Co. next month, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Lohan, the grandson of famed architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, will take a leadership role at the new firm. He will direct a new business unit called Lohan Studio.
Firm partner Floyd Anderson and eight other employees will also be hired by Wight & Co. Anderson will also be a Principal at Wight.
Among Lohan Anderson’s numerous projects are the McDonald’s Corporate Headquarters Campus in Oak Brook, Ill., and the John G. Shedd Oceanarium and the renovations of Soldier Field, both in Chicago.
Lohan worked with Mies van der Rohe on several buildings too, including the The Toronto Dominion Centre and the New National Gallery in Berlin.
Wight & Co. offers design-build services. It has offices in Chicago and suburban Darien, Ill.
