Soho Beach House, a $32 million, 83,000-sf beachfront hotel/condo development in Miami Beach, broke ground last month. The project involves renovating and upgrading the historic Sovereign Hotel and constructing a 15-story luxury condominium tower. Architect Allan T. Shulman's design layers old and new, creating a total of 67 units—44 hotel rooms for Soho House and 23 condos—in the 1940s-era Art Deco hotel and the new luxury tower. Moss & Associates, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will build the complex, which is being developed by Ryder Properties LLC.
