US Thrill Rides has unveiled designs for a 320-foot-tall observation tower, called Tricentennial Tower, that will feature a double-helix gondola ride, reports Gizmag.

According to the developer, Tricentennial Tower will be the largest observation attraction in the Southern Gulf region, and will be part of the redevlopment of the World Trade Center Building at Two Canal Street.

Developers hope the tower will become an attraction for tourists visiting the city, much like Seattle's Space Needle or the London Eye.

The tower will also include the New Orleans 360 Interactive Experience at the top, where visitors will be able to participate in a virtual reality tour of New Orleans, from its 1718 founding through its 300th birthday celebration in 2018.

The news comes just days after US Thrill Rides announced another sky-high entertainment project: a high-rise roller coaster planned for Orlando, Fla., called the Skyscraper.
