Illinois State Representative Kelly Burke and many of Chicagoland's leading contractors were on hand this week to welcome new Executive Director Dan McLaughlin to the Builders Association. Many high-level executives from Chicago area construction firms stopped by to discuss with McLaughlin the current state of the industry, as well as his vision for the direction of the Association. Among the items discussed were the Builders Association getting more involved with local and state government, how the BA's labor and safety services could continue to grow and what courses the Association could present to better train Project Managers for the future.
McLaughlin may just be getting started at the Builders Association, but he's far from a novice when it comes to looking out for the interests of contractors and Chicagoland's construction industry as a whole. He served as the Executive Director of the Plumbing Contractors Association of Chicago for 22 years and led the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland for five. He has also been the Mayor of Orland Park since 1993.
The Builders Association has been serving the needs of Chicago's construction companies since 1906. View our member list here or visit www.bldrs.org for more information on programs and services.
