On Friday, March 7, Skanska USA Building Inc. and University of Houston System-Sugar Land hoisted the last piece of steel atop the multipurpose building at the campus' Sugar Land location it shares with Wharton County Junior College. The 150,000-square-foot building includes an auditorium; computer, science and nursing skill labs; faculty offices; a bookstore; weight and aerobics rooms; a multipurpose room with seating for 350 people; conference rooms; a student center for the community college; and a student lounge. The facility is scheduled for completion in December 2008.
