Suffolk names Jeffrey Gouveia as President, Southeast Region

Exec with eight years of Florida experience will head regional team.

By Suffolk Construction | June 17, 2014

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, June 11, 2014 – Suffolk Construction, one of the most successful, privately held building contractors in the country, has named Jeffrey A. Gouveia as the new president of Suffolk’s Southeast region. Gouveia was responsible for launching Suffolk’s new office and presence in the Southeast from 1995 to 2002. Suffolk’s Southeast team has since developed into one of the largest and most successful construction management firms in the entire State of Florida. Gouveia will replace former Southeast region general manager Rex Kirby.

Prior to his new role as Southeast president, Gouveia served as Suffolk’s executive vice president of operations responsible for pursuing sophisticated projects with national clients, and assisting in expanding and growing Suffolk’s Southeast office. Gouveia served as national COO responsible for coordinating the compliance of corporate standard operating procedures across all regions and identifying challenges and opportunities for ongoing improvement. He also worked closely with the executive vice president of National Business Development to coordinate Suffolk’s national client strategy, identify and build relationships, and assist in national account development. Gouveia assumed a leadership role in Suffolk’s expansion through the acquisitions of competitor William A. Berry in the Northeast and ROEL Construction on the West Coast.

Suffolk Southeast has a strong presence in Florida and continues to generate significant momentum in the Southeast. Suffolk successfully built the JW Marriott Marquis and Wells Fargo Center, Miami Beach Senior High School, and the magnificent Las Olas River House, among many other high-profile projects. Suffolk is currently managing construction of Met III in Miami, Jade Signature in Sunny Isles Beach, Sinai Residences in Boca Raton, Dania Casino and Jai Alai in Dania Beach, and The Jewel in Sarasota.

Gouveia has been ranked on prestigious “40 under 40” lists that recognize the most influential and accomplished young business and civic leaders. He is also a “mega member” of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).
