Town & Country, MO – From the rubble of the former regional headquarters of Lucent Technologies in Town & Country has emerged a $50-million “green” retail enclave in a park-like setting. The transformation by Brinkmann Constructors of the 45-acre site at Woods Mill and Clayton roads into the 310,000-square-foot Town & Country Crossing utilized recycled materials and created a 3-acre lake amid a tapestry of landscaping.
Developed by TNC Investors, LLC, the center is anchored by Town & Country's first Target store, the St. Louis area's second Whole Foods market and 12 other retailers.
The 18-month project required Brinkmann to sculpt the tract. Brinkmann first leveled a 670,000-square-foot Lucent warehouse and office building, retaining more than 5,000 truckloads of asphalt and concrete. The materials were later used to create retail floor slabs and the rock base for the paved 1,945-space parking lot.
