Uber plans to launch an aerial ridesharing program in Dallas, Los Angeles, and Melbourne in 2023.
In this two-minute video, Walter Hughes, Humphreys & Partners Architects' Chief Innovation Officer, walks us through his firm's design concept for Uber Air Skyport.
Uber called for two schemes, which included a parking garage retrofit design for the central business district and a new construction greenfield structure to support the outer suburbs.
Humphreys & Partners' design scheme, Volary, is made of natural, organic materials, which create a highly sustainable building resulting in a zero net energy footprint.
Also see our roundup of Uber Air Skyport design concepts from Arup, BOKA Powell, Beck Group, Corgan, Gensler, Humphreys & Partners, Mithun, Pickard Chilton, and SHoP Architects.
