With structural engineering from Walter P Moore, Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art has won the New Buildings Under $30 Million project category in the 2009 Structural Engineers Association of Kansas & Missouri (SEAKM) Awards Program. The Program is sponsored by SEAKM to recognize creative achievement and innovation in structural engineering. The presentation was made at the annual awards dinner in St. Louis, MO.

Located on the campus of Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kan., Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art is the largest contemporary art museum in the 4-state region. The elegant, minimalist building opened to international acclaim for its architecture, art collection and exhibition programming.

UT Dallas opens Morphosis-designed Crow Museum of Asian Art

In Richardson, Tex., the University of Texas at Dallas has opened a second location for the Crow Museum of Asian Art—the first of multiple buildings that will be part of a 12-acre cultural district. When completed, the arts and performance complex, called the Edith and Peter O’Donnell Jr. Athenaeum, will include two museums, a performance hall and music building, a grand plaza, and a dedicated parking structure on the Richardson campus.
