Construction work has commenced on a $27 million studio building in Burbank, Calif., for Woodbury University's architecture program. Designed by Los-Angeles-based architect Rios Clementi Hale Studios, the two-story, 19,000-sf facility will accommodate studio, critique, and exhibit space for approximately 200 architecture students. The building will anchor the university's architecture campus, which comprises five one-story buildings on the southeast corner of the 22-acre campus. The exterior design features a brick-and-glass curving façade along Glenoaks Boulevard, which borders the university. San Francisco-based Swinerton Inc. is the general contractor for the studio project.
