Mosaic of desert tones converges on ASU Campus

Since 2008, the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication at Arizona State University has served as a striking addition to the downtown Phoenix campus. The 223,000-sf multi-use building makes an artistic statement and adds texture, with a mosaic of color that matches the landscape.

A clever arrangement of Valspar's Fluropon PVDF coatings in Colonial Red, Copper Penny, and Terra Cotta Red on metal panels, clad with Metallic Silver, creates a stunning façade.

The multi-tiered common area at the center of the building and a dramatic main entrance invite visitors into the spaces, while shaded areas along the building’s perimeter encourage outdoor enjoyment.

The mid-rise project is bustling with activity, with offices, retail spaces, restaurants, classrooms, computer labs, professional newsrooms, and a large PBS station.

The building earned LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. High-quality Valspar coatings endure the hot Arizona sun and ensure durability and visual appeal for many years to come.
