Two new PV solutions introduced

Two new PV solutions introduced

Tim Gregorski | April 13, 2012
Existing and new metal roofs are typical substrates for PV systems because they can be installed without penetrations of the metal roof panel.

MBCI recently introduced two different photovoltaic solutions to the marketplace.

The first is a rigid glass-based polycrystalline silicon module, which can be installed on standing seam metal roofs using a non-penetrating clamp that mechanically attaches to the seam.

The second offering is flexible thin film that is typically adhered to the metal roof panel in a factory environment, allowing the photovoltaic array to be installed as the roof panels are installed.

Existing and new metal roofs are typical substrates for PV systems because they can be installed without penetrations of the metal roof panel. Furthermore, a metal roof is poised to outlive the solar equipment, saving removal and replacement costs associated with other roof materials having shorter life spans.
