A survey of members of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) revealed that design and durability are designers’ primary considerations when selecting outdoor cabinetry, followed by outdoor appliance fit and price.
Additional findings from the "State of the Industry: Outdoor Living Market Findings" report:
- Outdoor living spaces are gaining popularity - with 63.7% of designers surveyed by ASID confirming rising interest from their clients.
- Designers expect nature-inspired hues will be a key 2020 trend, as blues and greens in particular become more popular.
- Traditional and Transitional styles have the most demand for outdoor living spaces - but Contemporary designs are expected to gain further popularity in 2020
- Fire pits and fireplaces are the most popular upgrade for outdoor living spaces across the U.S.
