T. Christopher Cooper, RN, MHA, MIM, has joined Cannon Design as Principal.
A seasoned clinician, healthcare executive and industrial engineer, Cooper’s focus is on operational, strategic and design initiatives and their interrelationship as transformative tools for healthcare delivery. As a Principal within Confluence by Cannon Design, Chris will leverage his advanced clinical and healthcare advisory skills to support a wide variety of facility and non-facility challenges facing Cannon Design’s clients.
An essential component of the firm’s healthcare practice, Confluence by Cannon Design provides healthcare organizations with innovative, performance-based solutions designed to support strategic planning, operational optimization, experiential design, service excellence and enhanced financial performance.
As part of the advisory services team, Chris will serve in the role of senior nurse executive and clinical thought leader, providing insight on thefuture of healthcare, strategic planning, clinical process optimization, and experiential design.
Prior to joining Cannon Design, Cooper served as a Manager in the Health Industries Advisory Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he was engaged in strategic planning, physician alignment, and operational improvement consulting and was a Subject Matter Expert in Pediatrics and Oncology. Previous to that association Cooper held positions at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he served as the Clinical Director of Hematology, Oncology and Transplant services; and at Sg2, an international healthcare intelligence, research and consulting organization in Chicago, where he served as Director of Cancer and Nursing Services.
A registered nurse, Cooper holds both a Master of Health Administration and Master of Information Management from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. He received his Associate of Science in Nursing at Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in New York City.

The Joule Hotel
Dallas, Texas
The Joule Hotel in Dallas, designed by local firm Coburn & Smith, was constructed in 1927 as the Dallas National Bank Building. Originally one of the finest examples of gothic revival architecture in Texas, it had had most of its gothic elements removed over the years after being converted into an office building and later abandoned. What was left had fallen into disrepair.
