Of all the materials that kids use to build houses—from Lincoln Logs to playing cards to gingerbread—Lego bricks reign superior. The interlocking plastic blocks can make a sturdy, straight, and colorful structure without much of a mess.
Now, thanks to New York-based entrepreneur Arnon Rosan, the blocks aren’t just for miniature models. Gizmag reports that EverBlocks can be used to build actual furniture, dividing walls, and free-standing shelters.
The company offers three sizes of plastic blocks (the largest being a 12x6-inch brick) that can connect and stick together without additional glue or screws. Builders can jazz them up by adding accessories like brackets, LED lighting strips, and PVC rod reinforcements.
While EverBlocks can be used to build modest kitchen tables, temporary room dividers, and artistic scenery, their most ambitious use is modular habitable buildings. Ticket booths, guard shacks, and equipment enclosures are a few of the company’s suggested uses, but EverBlock believes the product can be used for disaster relief and military shelters.
Each full-size block is $7.25, and different sizes and packages are available.
