Skanska USA, a provider of construction management, preconstruction, and design-build services, announced Dina Miller as procurement manager for its Philadelphia region.

Miller brings more than 25 years of construction experience to Skanska, during which she has developed strong relationships with subcontractors who serve various markets in the Greater Philadelphia region, including higher education, corporate/commercial, residential, healthcare and pharmaceutical.

As procurement manager, Miller will assist Skanska’s preconstruction, estimating and diversity council teams to select the most qualified local subcontractors to work in collaboration with Skanska on projects throughout the region. She will also ensure that Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) are equally considered for projects, further strengthening Skanska’s commitment to diversity. +

Report: Fraud levels fall for construction industry, but companies still losing $6.4 million on average

The global construction, engineering and infrastructure industry saw a significant decline in fraud activity with companies losing an average of $6.4 million over the last three years, according to the latest edition of the Kroll Annual Global Fraud Report, released today at the Association of Corporate Counsel’s 2009 Annual Meeting in Boston. This new figure represents less than half of last year’s amount of $14.2 million.
